Detail: We have commissioned Joseph Phibbs to write his fourth string quartet, to be recorded and performed by the Piatti String Quartet. The composition will be written over the first half of 2022. This is Joseph’s second commission for the foundation, following up on his earlier Piano Preludes.
We are grateful for the Hattori Foundation’s support as co-commissioners.
The quartet was recorded by the Piatti Quarter and released in November 2024 to exceptional reviews. The Piatti have performed it extensively following the premiere:
