Richard Rijnvos: Riflessi

In 2007 Richard Rijnvos started a series of compositions under the collective title Riflessi. ‘Riflesso’ is Italian for sheen, reflective light of a tone different from that of its source. The Riflessi series explores the exceptional scoring of a classic from the 20th Century – the three pieces on this CD using the same orchestration as Refrain (1959) by Karlheinz Stockhausen, Swinging Music (1970) by the Polish composer Kazimierz Serocki, and Arnold Schönberg’s Suite, opus 29.  Recent concert review  here (in dutch).

We recorded this CD in January 2019 in Amsterdam. The release concert was on 28 October 2019 at the Purcell Room, Southbank.
